While still a QUT Creative Industries student, in his final semester of Industrial Design studies, Emmett is also fast establishing his career as an artist.
His most recent solo exhibition, which was held at Artisan’s Ivory Street Window was titled Mundanity Continued. In October 2016 he also had a sculpture, Hang Ten, featured in the Swell Sculpture Festival held at Currumbin beach.
Emmett uses sculpture and other artistic mediums to represent his interpretation of the landscape. Looking at elements of the Australian country, Emmett sees the shapes and formations as living, breathing bodies.
Through his creative practice he aspires to attain the essence, the soul, the spirit of these beings and physically represent them and manifest them through art. Through this he aims to foster a greater appreciation of nature.
