Bubblewrap + Preview at James ST RESORT

Date: Friday, 27 October 2017 to Tuesday, 31 October 2017

Where: James St, Fortitude Valley

As part of this year’s RESORT program, James Street teamed up with QUT fashion students for a number of real world design and business initiatives.

The Bubblewrap pop up store was run by students for three days, selling limited edition garments and accessories. The event gave the public the opportunity to purchase exclusive pieces from 18 of Brisbane’s finest emerging fashion designers.

The event took place alongside a preview of QUT fashion student work hosted at Jardan, James Street.

The event also promoted the students’ design talent through a series of limited-edition custom totes, available for purchase in the popup Bubblewrap store.

The pop-up store products, carefully developed by each student play with the concepts of  upcycling, handcrafted fabric manipulations, custom digital prints.

The collaborating designers include QUT graduate Gail Sorronda as well as Aje, Natasha Schweitzer, Optiko and TWFineArt.

QUT would like to specially thank the philanthropic initiative QUT Fashion Front Rowers Group for their support of this project and also Lydia Pearson for the leadership in making the store happen.
