Fashion Illustration with Cassandra White
Date: Saturday, 22 April 2017 to Saturday, 22 April 2017
Where: QUT Creative Industries Precinct
Short course tutor Cassandra White brings warmth, enthusiasm and a life long passion for design to the Fashion Illustration for beginners short course.
She prides herself on helping students to not only translate their ideas into digital reality, but have fun along the way. Cassandra is particularly interested in typography, branding, layout and illustration.
After graduating from a degree in Theatre Studies, Cassandra went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design followed by postgraduate studies in Graphic Design. When she is not teaching at QUT, Cassandra works as freelance graphic designer and mum of two adorable little boys.
For the past five years the fashion lecturer within QUT’s School of Design has shared her love of fashion with short course attendees. The course develops the foundations for creating a portfolio of fashion illustration using industry-standard design software. It is a two-day course offered by QUT Creative Industries Faculty.
Cassandra says that past students have thoroughly enjoyed the short course experience.
“I loved the program and am now so inspired to continue illustrating fashion designs and create my own collection.”

“By the end of the course students realise that the world of fashion is bigger and more multifaceted than they had previously thought, and this gets them really excited about a potential career in the industry,” Cassandra says.
Working with an industry professional, students are guided through the process of developing a design portfolio, from concept development to finished illustration and presentation.
This is the perfect course for budding fashion designers and those interested in working in the fashion industry in general, and is a great introduction for those considering studying fashion in QUT’s Bachelor of Fine Arts or Bachelor of Creative Industries courses.
