Upon graduating from an undergraduate degree in Creative Writing, Law went on to complete a PhD from QUT in television writing and cultural studies. His research focus was on the representations of Asian-Australians in television.
Law went on to publish his first novel, The Family Law (2010), which is a hilarious and moving memoir about his own childhood. Law has also been heavily involved in the screen writing for The Family Law adaptation, which is due to air on SBS in 2016.
Law has also written Gaysia: Adventures in the Queer East (2012) and co-authored Shit Asian Mothers Say (2014) with his sister Michelle Law. Both of Law’s books have been nominated for Australian Book Industry Awards, and he is now working on his next.
As a journalist and columnist Law also frequently writes for frankie magazine, The Good Weekend and The Monthly.
